This training, which is under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT), is co-organised with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and hosted by the MBA International Programme, of the Athens University of Economics and Business.
Created in 2008, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is a unique EU initiative that boosts innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe. The EIT fills a niche and is the single EU instrument that fully integrates business, research and education. It supports the development of dynamic pan-European partnerships between leading universities, research organisations, companies and other innovation actors, such as the public sector. Together, they develop innovative products and services, start new and scale existing companies, and train a new generation of entrepreneurs. These partnerships are known as EIT Innovation Communities (KICs).
The General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT), of the Greek Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, is responsible for the design and coordination of implementation of policies related to Research, Technology and Innovation. Furthermore, GSRT has the mission to maximize the impact of the highly qualified human potential in the area of research through the creation of new employment opportunities for the highly skilled and to reverse brain drain, to transfer and disseminate innovative technologies to the country's productive sector for targeted use of the research results and to enhance public awareness on Science, Research and Technology issues. It also has the responsibility of supervising and fund the country's Research and Technological Institutions.
