The EIT is a unique EU initiative that boosts innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe with one simple idea: through diversity there is strength. We bring together leading universities, research labs and companies to form dynamic pan-European partnerships. Together, we develop innovative products and services, start new companies, and train a new generation of entrepreneurs. We bring ideas to market, turn students into entrepreneurs and, most importantly, we innovate. Our partnerships are known as Innovation Communities (KICs). Each Innovation Community focuses on a different challenge, now ranging from developing sustainable energy sources to encouraging active ageing or sustainable food. To date, we have created more than 300 new start-ups, launched 430 new or improved products, services and processes, and incubated more than 2 200 business ideas across Europe.
Our mission is to contribute to the competitiveness of Europe and its sustainable economic growth by promoting and strengthening synergies and cooperation among businesses, education institutions and research organisations through EIT’s unique innovation model: integrating the knowledge triangle (business, education and research). We aim to create favourable environments for creative thoughts, in order to enable world-class innovation and entrepreneurship to thrive in Europe.
The EIT House Brussels was established in 2017. It is located on Rue Guimard 7 (4th floor) and gives the EIT Community a permanent presence in the heart of Europe.
Set up by the EIT Community with two main objectives, to increase the awareness and visibility of the EIT Community in Brussels, and provide temporary co-working and meeting/ exhibition space, the EIT House will showcase and promote the Innovation Communities' activities and achievements (innovations, products, services and start-ups). Additionally, it will host events, wiith the aim to facilitate interaction between the EIT Community and everyone involved in innovation in the EU.
