Camilla Barone

Camilla Barone is a consultant semiologist for social and market research, specialized in integration of analytical and creative work for innovation, design and brand development. Camilla is currently consultant for MIP, Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business, where she works as a researcher at MaDe In Lab- Management of Design and Innovation Laboratory, and she is a lecturer of Retail Service Innovation in the Executive courses held by the Corporate Education Area. She has been a lecturer of Research for Service Design at NABA – innovative arts and design academy based in Milan; of Semiotics and Brand Semiotics at IULM – University of Languages and Communication, Milan – and at the Università Vita-Salute San Raffele – Faculty of Communication Sciences.
Since 2003 Camilla Barone has been a lecturer in numerous universities and institutions in Italy and abroad whilst her work has been included in several publications. She has a doctorate degree in Communication and New Technologies with a dissertation on Semiotics of Spaces and New Technologies, and a part of her research carried out at the University of California (UCSD).
After being strategic planner at the Armando Testa Group she is currently in charge of socio semiotics and cultural insight methodologies in Italy for the global marketing consultancy Added Value, Italy. Since 2009 she collaborates with design consultancy Intersezioni. Her career begins with two years in the implementation of Osservatorio Tendenze for Ipsos Explorer (trend watching platform) followed by a seven year experience in charge of qualitative research at Milan’s GPF&Associati, a research institution and strategic consultancy directed by Prof. Gian Paolo Fabris
